Buy the former Energy Gym for the people of Johnstown in NavanThe Johnstown estate is the biggest estate in Navan with nearly 3000 houses and 10,000 people and still growing. In actual fact it is bigger than most of the small towns like Kells and Dunshaughlin surrounding it. But bigger is not always better when it comes to facilities. Johnstown is the forgotten estate when it comes to facilities in Co Meath for its young and ever growing population. Most of the smaller towns and other estates in Navan around us have much better facilities, with a state of the art Community Centre's in the likes of Dunshaughlin. For the Council to build a Community Centre from scratch in Johnstown, it would firstly take far to long for its long suffering population but would also cost to much. It makes much better financial sense for the Council to purchase the former Energy Gym for the benefit of everyone living in the community. This is only a once in a lifetime chance to turn a near derelict building and an eye sore based in the centre of the community into a badly needed Community Centre which all the residents of Johnstown can be proud of. We would ask that all Meath County Councillors from all parties and none would support this petition and urge the Council to act urgently to secure the Centre for the benefit of their constituents.1,192 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Alan Lawes

No keys to Obomber - Retract your award.Ireland has a world renowned reputation for being a peaceful country. Offering the keys to Dublin to Mr Obama will seriously damage our good reputation that values peace and neutrality. It's time to stop looking to other countries and start recognising the relentless work of people who do more to help the most vulnerable in Ireland rather than those who use and abuse Ireland in pursuit of war. Councillors, in honour of all the innocent civilians murdered around the world by Mr Obama and the United States of America, please retract your decision immediately. Target child poverty in lone parent familiesThis week the EU silc data was released. It shows consistent poverty in the state is 8.7%. For 2 parent families with 3 or less children this drops to 7.7% but for children in lone parent families it is 26.2%. It is fundamentally wrong that a child is almost 3 1/2 times more likely to live in poverty based purely on their family status. We know childhood poverty has long reaching effects and we owe it to all children to ensure they have a fair chance.1,376 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Louise Bayliss

Safer Roads to St Angela's CollegeThis petition is concerning the main access road leading to St. Angela's College, Lough Gill Loop Road, Clogherevagh (L7428) Sligo. It is to highlight the dangerous bends, poor visibility, no road markings and the various structural defects of the road. With the large volume of traffic that use the Lough Gill Loop road, it is only a matter of time before there is an accident and someone is seriously injured. Please fill in the Safer Roads to St Angela's University questionnaire by clicking on the link below. Save our GP's (Northern Ireland)GP's are an essential service within all communities accross Northern Ireland but this is under threat. GP's services have had and are having many GP's resigning and retiring yet we do not have enough people in training to replace those doctors. This is exasperated by underfunding of NHS creating a situation of too few beds then which ultimately puts far more pressure on GP's as people's only other source of ongoing treatment in the community.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Matt Beeching

Save Our Dart StationsIarnróid Éireann's plan to replace on-site staff members with machines at a number of DART stations is going to have a huge effect on people with any kind of accessibility issue, health- or age-related travel requirement. Public transport should be for public use on the basis of equality - not a cost-saving, discriminatory service based on efficiency.200 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Daithi Ó Caoimh

Parking and Lighting for IT Tralee StudentsParking, adequate lighting and traffic congestion issues have been a problem on Clash road, Tralee and areas leading of it for many years. Clash road is used by staff and students and provides access to IT Tralee, South Campus, Kerry ETB, Clash industrial estate and other areas on a daily basis. As parking is extremely limited in the Clash area, the KCC's solution since September 16' has been to fine all cars parked illegally rather than tackle the issue of a lack of parking in the area. A workable solution must be found for the students, staff and people who work and use Clash road on a daily basis.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steve Clifford

Declare Housing Emergency in GalwayCurrently there are over 5,000 people on the social housing waiting list, with only 14 houses coming on stream in next 2 years. The council are spending approx 871,599 Euro every 6 months in Galway to house families in hotels and B&B's which is unacceptable long term and is wasteful. Also the cost of 330,000 per social housing unit, which is being discussed in GCC this wk, is outrageous and unsustainable. Approx 50,000 people are in arrears of 2 yrs or more with their mortgage half of whom are at risk of repossession this year. Where will they go ? Too many people sleeping rough on our streets every night and a huge amount of people, incl students, couples, families, travelers and single people, failing to find suitable affordable accommodation in the private sector in Galway city. Something must be done NOW !807 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Galway Housing Action Group
