• Stop using turf to generate electricity
Close down the peat fired electricity generator in Edenderry. It is not viable without enormous subsidies, burning turf is more polluting than coal, if they substitute wood chips when they phase out turf there is not enough in Ireland and there is some nonsense about importing it from the US, and wood chips are only marginally less polluting. We would reduce our emissions by 10% if we closed these plants. In 20 years what will we be talking about? It will be why nobody did anything meaningful about preventing climate change.

  • Reverse decision on Bottom Mussel Dredging for spat/seed
Bottom Mussel Dredging for spat/seed along Ireland's east coast has over the last 30 years caused widespread habitat destruction and biodiversity loss. This is particularly apparent off the coast of North County Wicklow. The Irish Bottom Mussel Industry with the help of Bord Iascaigh Mhara are seeking a Marine Stewardship Council Certificate which in plain terms deems Bottom Mussel Industry products as sustainably produced and not environmentally damaging. Over the last 30 years permanent mussel banks, which attracted many species of fish, crustaceans, invertabrates, worms and a host of other benthic creatures have been destroyed by "spat collection" dredging which is a key element in the supply chain to market of Bottom Mussels. This "dredging" element is so invasive to the benthic environment that the once great mixed fishery off Greystones, Co. Wicklow presents today as a marine desert where thirty years ago it was a marine Garden of Eden which sustained both local artisan fishing jobs and a thriving recreational sea angling product. If you feel that this MSC cert' should not be awarded submit your reasons through the following link

  • Bring back the 16A route
Dublin Bus took away the 16A route from Nutgrove to Dublin Airport and put on route 61 which only has a poor hourly service and only operates to Eden Quay which means there is no direct service from Nutgrove to Dublin Airport anymore

  • Taxpayers should NOT be funding the Popes security costs
We have suffered untold trauma at the behest of the church and convents, mother and baby homes, illegal adoption, clerical abuse, etc., etc. The Roman Catholic church are the Richest bank in the world and can pay for whatever costs this trip will incur. Enough is enough!

  • TJ Fighting for Special Needs Education
My 14 year old son, TJ, has autism. He's been without education, a school place or respite for over a year, which is simply unacceptable. They claim that every child deserves education but unfortunately, that doesn't seem to apply to special needs children. My son is not the only special needs child without a school place, there are many whose needs are also being ignored. The Department of Education does not check on the special needs children without a school place. Every child, including those with special needs, deserves a right to education. Something needs to be done and together, a great change can be achieved. Let's be their voice. Please sign this petition to help bring about the change. Thank you.

  • Switch Clondalkins water supply back to Ballymore Eustace
The people of Clondalkin are spending extra money a week to buy bottled water to avoid the scum like oil that is floating on top of a glass of water or a cup of tea. They are also noticing staining in their cups from the tea and for health reasons are not using this water for baby bottles.

  • Introduce legislation to regulate the use of the word “Institute” in Ireland
The word ‘Institute’ conveys a sense of learning, gravitas and professionalism. Any organization that wishes to be called an institute should be required to comply with a set of national standards to ensure the public are not mislead by the term in that organizations title. We strictly regulate the domain name .ie to ensure a high set of standards are complied with. We should consider this to be no less important.

  • Clean up the site of the derelict houses at Palmer Avenue, Rush
These houses are in shameful condition and this is now Health and Safety concern to the whole community. The derelict houses are being are attracting anti social behaviour and locals are afraid to let their children play in the Park. It is just a matter of time that something more serious or life-threatening will happen. Not to mention that these are about 200 meters from a local Primary School thus school children walking through the Park to and from school are in danger of being mistreated. It is high time this issue to be taken seriously.

  • Connemara stone walls
Connemara stone walls are a distinct landmark of the west of Ireland that were put up during famine times by the local farming landlords as a way of clearing the land for the growing of crops to feed the population when it was badly needed they are a reminder of the past and now a landmark and to our heritage. They should be protected in the fullest way possible and made a protected area of importance to Ireland and its way of life

  • BUILD SKYSCRAPERS IN IRELAND
So that Ireland isn't stuck in the past with its buildings anymore. If you look at the comments of any youtube video or newspaper article about box buildings (6-8 stories) the main focus will be, 'why on earth are they not being built upwards???' We need tall buildings, and fast. They look great, can offer amazing views and will have a positive impact on the economy.

  • Move ESB cables in St Helens, Adamstown
The significant delay in ESB servicing the St Helen’s site is causing unforeseen and lengthy delays in the construction of these new homes, pushing some completion dates from Jan/Feb to at least July 2018. At a time when housing is in such significant demand, and the Irish Government are providing incentives to both construction companies & purchasers to invest in New Builds, it is simply outrageous that semi-state bodies such as ESB are delaying the completion of badly needed housing. We are asking local Counsellors and TD’s, Castlethorn Construction, and residents of Lucan to stand behind the purchasers of St Helen’s, Adamstown and demand that ESB provide timely and adequate services to site.
