Stop Peter Thiels Dialog group meeting in Wicklow
Peter Thiel’s Dialog Group event is not welcome in Enniskerry because many people see it as representing a world where billionaire influence, military technology and corporate power are placed ahead of ordinary people and basic human values. The group brings together politicians, tech executives, military leaders and investors behind closed doors. Thiel himself is a major supporter of Donald Trump and the co-founder of Palantir.
Palantir has worked with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the US military and the Israeli military, and announced a partnership with Israel’s Ministry of Defence to support “war-related missions” during the Gaza conflict. The company’s technology has therefore become closely associated with controversial military and surveillance operations, leading to protests and criticism from human rights organisations and campaigners concerned about the impact on Palestinians and other affected communities. Profit should never come before humanity.
In the UK, Palantir’s expanding role in public services has also generated significant controversy. Its NHS contracts have faced criticism over transparency, procurement and ethics, and London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s office blocked a proposed £50 million Metropolitan Police contract after citing a “clear and serious breach” of procurement rules and concerns over the tendering process. For many people, these issues raise serious questions about accountability, democratic oversight and the kind of values we want represented in our communities.
