We, the undersigned, demand the immediate resignation of Micheál Martin from his position as Taoiseach. His recent public statements praising Winston Churchill as a "wartime hero" to President Donald Trump represent a profound betrayal of Irish history and the lived experiences of those impacted by Churchill’s colonial policies. ​By aligning himself with a narrow, revisionist view of history and cozying up to the Trump administration through such rhetoric, the Taoiseach has undermined Ireland’s neutral standing and its commitment to historical justice. Such comments display a staggering lack of sensitivity to the victims and their descendants of the Black and Tans or the Bengal Famine, proving he is no longer fit to represent the Irish people on the global stage.

Banning or strictly regulating **TikTok Live in Ireland is important because it poses serious social, financial, and safety risks, particularly to children and young people. First, TikTok Live promotes the idea of easy money, encouraging people to beg online rather than develop skills, education, or a work ethic. This creates long-term harm by normalising dependency instead of productivity. Second, there is no transparency or accountability around gifting: • Who is sending money? • Why are they sending it? • Where is the money coming from? • What is expected in return after gifts are sent? This lack of clarity opens the door to financial exploitation, manipulation, and inappropriate influence, especially involving minors and vulnerable individuals. Third, TikTok Live exposes children to unsafe interactions, including pressure, grooming risks, and emotional manipulation. Young users may feel encouraged to perform, beg, or behave inappropriately to receive money, which is harmful to their development and dignity. Finally, the long-term impact on society is serious. When a generation grows up believing that going live and receiving gifts is a replacement for honest work, it weakens social values, damages mental health, and increases future economic dependency. For these reasons, action is necessary to protect children, uphold social responsibility, and safeguard Ireland’s future generation

There is a concerning oversight in the planning approach of Kerry County Council regarding Campervan/Motorhome 'Aire' type services. These services, named after the 'Aires de Service' in France, offer essential amenities for Campervan / Motorhome users and are prevalent across continental EU countries. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a notable surge in 'Staycationers,' accompanied by a corresponding increase in Campervan / Motorhome sales. These vehicles afford individuals the comfort of their own secure space, fostering a preference for domestic travel among many. This presents a unique opportunity to augment 'bed nights' in regions beyond the primary tourist centres, offering significant economic advantages to these areas. By providing adequate facilities for Campervan/Motorhome users, Kerry County Council can tap into this burgeoning market and bolster tourism in less frequented areas. During stays at the Bridge Field, we've encountered visitors from various countries, including the UK, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands, as well as fellow Irish tourists. Their patronage has notably boosted the local economy, benefiting village shops, pubs, restaurants, and even the weekly farmer's market. These visits aren't confined to the summer months but extend throughout the year, owing to the convenience their vehicles afford them.   Moreover, the spaciousness of motorhomes encourages tourists to invest in larger purchases, fostering new opportunities for rural craft enterprises across Ireland. The Bridge Field motorhome park provides a warm and inviting hub for exploration in Kerry. However, the absence of such a facility may now lead to a noticeable influx of camper vans into the village, only to depart shortly after due to the lack of secure parking - a circumstance that would be particularly regrettable for the community in the upcoming seasons. At present, the sole Aire-type service available in Kerry County is the thriving motorhome park located at Goosey Island in Sneem. This serves as a prime example of how such facilities can significantly contribute to the prosperity of a local community.  It begs the question: is there a bias against Campervans/Motorhomes within the Kerry Co. Co. Planning department, or perhaps a misguided association of this lifestyle with a particular demographic? Consider this: would you prefer 'Staycationers' to support rural areas in Ireland by spending their money locally, or would you rather see them opt for ferries to destinations like France, Germany, or Spain, where they are warmly welcomed and their tourism euros are eagerly received? 

I am asking the parents of OLV to sign this petition to save Dereks job, he has been amazing over the last few years since he started and it will be a huge loss to see him go.

Action must be taken before this road claims a life

The road is a danger to all and most especially our pedestrians and cyclists. The surveys are done the measurements taken. We need contractors on the ground to make the road safe for all.

These are the questions that were submitted to the club via e-mail on 21st Oct and were subsequently shared via WhatsApp with Barry Saul -   1. Where is the charter/constitution/rulebook of the club that outlines the rules and guidelines for members; 2. What is the legal relationship between the board of the limited company and the management committee of the club 3. Why are three individuals holding senior roles in the limited company board, the executive committee, and the football committee  4. Who are the fees payable to exactly and who controls this money 5. What rights are conferred on a parent/child upon payment of the annual fees 6. Why is there no parents representative on the board of the limited company  7. Why are there no representatives of the girls football teams on the board 8. Why was an auditor for the limited company reappointed at the AGM of the club, and not at the AGM of the limited company as one might expect 9. Why is the auditor not independent of the club as one would expect per the ethical standards of Chartered Accountants Ireland 10. Why is it that a non paying coach with no children in the club can attend the AGM yet a paying parent is prevented from attending 11. What are the guidelines for data control within the club.  12. Who is the current data controller and where is this published I have also requested a meeting with the club to go through thier responses as and when they are in a position to provide them. Sign this petition to demand transparency and structuring clarity from the Mount Merrion Football Club. Only then can we truly support and believe in the values that this club imparts to our children.

Because only people power will get the Justice Minister attention and elections due in the next few months.
