• Oppose Chat Control in the EU
The proposed Chat Control legislation represents an unprecedented violation of our fundamental right to privacy. Mass surveillance of private communications is incompatible with Article 7 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. Breaking end-to-end encryption would make all EU citizens vulnerable to cybercriminals, authoritarian regimes, and foreign interference. Strong encryption is essential for our digital security and economic competitiveness. Do we not remember the 2021 cyberattacks on the HSE during the COVID pandemic? Technical experts and child protection organisations have pointed out that this approach will not effectively protect children while creating massive privacy violations. We need targeted, evidence-based solutions instead. This proposal has been repeatedly rejected or stalled by democratic institutions, with the European Parliament voting against mass surveillance and the Council failing to achieve majority support for over two years. AI-based content scanning produces numerous false positives, potentially criminalizing innocent family photos and conversations. The technical implementation is fundamentally flawed and unreliable. This legislation would damage the EU's digital economy, drive tech companies away, and undermine our competitiveness against regions that protect digital rights and innovation.

  • UPDATE MENTAL HEALTH ACT 2001
Why is it important? Because none of us are safe under a mental health system that’s stuck in 2001. The Mental Health Act 2001 still allows forced treatment, restraint, and seclusion—even though these practices are now widely recognised as harmful, especially to neurodivergent people (like those with autism, ADHD, or trauma-related conditions). It treats emotional overwhelm as illness. It punishes difference as danger. This law was written before most people had smartphones. Before we had language for sensory overload, neurodivergence, or digital expression. It’s outdated, invasive, and not trauma-informed—and it puts thousands of people at risk every year. Why should others join? Because you don’t have to be in crisis to care. This campaign is about protecting our freedom, dignity, and human rights. It’s about making sure no one is silenced, secluded, or forcibly medicated for being misunderstood. If you’ve ever: • Had your feelings dismissed as “too much” • Been misdiagnosed • Been afraid to seek help because the system might punish you Then this campaign is for you. We need to audit the Mental Health Act 2001—and bring Ireland in line with modern science and EU human rights law. Join us. Share. Demand better. ACTIVATE. AGITATE. AMPLIFY!

  • Improve phone signal in upper Tramore
    1. Public Safety: Poor signal can prevent people from making emergency calls or receiving critical alerts. In a growing town, reliable access to emergency services is essential. 2. Remote Work and Education: With more people working and studying from home, especially post-COVID, strong mobile data and tethering capabilities are vital. Weak signal directly impacts productivity and access to opportunity. 3. Economic Growth: Tramore is expanding, and businesses—especially tourism-related ones—rely on good connectivity for card payments, online bookings, communications, and marketing. Bad signal limits economic potential. 4. Social Inclusion: For residents who may not have access to broadband or prefer mobile internet, poor signal can lead to digital exclusion, affecting their ability to connect with family, services, or community. 5. Population Growth: As more people move into new housing developments, infrastructure needs to keep up. Mobile coverage should be considered an essential utility—just like water or electricity. 6. Tourism Impact: Tramore is a popular tourist destination, and visitors expect reliable service. Poor signal affects their experience and can harm the town’s reputation.

  • Stop gambling arcade in Bandon
Gambling has ruined so many lives. Broke up marriages,  homes repossessed, jobs lost. Gambling can be a silent addiction and is not visible to lots of people. A gaming/ gambling arcade in a rural town is the last thing we need.

  • “SAVE ALL JOBS IN OCEAN VIEW”

  • Trump is not welcome in Ireland
We don’t have any power to stop him, but we can show how we feel and maybe he will actually think about what he’s doing if reasonable people around the world let him know. The political opposition in the USA, whose job this really is, are virtually silent

  • Put it to the People
The Triple Lock is an integral part of Ireland's neutrality and Foreign Policy. Removing the Triple Lock is an attack on our neutrality. This change opens the door to Irish troops being seconded to NATO and EU missions, with almost free-range given to the government of the day. The Triple Lock means Irish Defence Forces troops are only deployed on UN-mandated missions. A UN mandate gives legitimacy to peacekeeping missions which will be impossible to replace. The blue beret, that Irish troops have always worn, also offers them a huge level of protection. There is currently an attack on the UN with Elon Musk recently stating the United States should leave the institution. The proposed plans from the government are a further undermining of the UN at a time of increasing militarisation. So what? This is a fundamental change in Ireland's stance on neutrality - so we believe it should be put to the people in a national plebiscite. Every citizen in Ireland deserves to have a direct say on whether the Government should make this change. We recognise the importance of democratic consultation in shaping Ireland's future foreign policy, which is why we believe the only truly democratic option is a direct vote through a vote by the people on the whether Ireland should retain the Triple Lock.

  • Transparency in Re-turn's Deposit Return Scheme
Our Concerns: 1. Unclaimed Deposits:  A significant portion of the €100 million in deposits collected during 2024 remains unclaimed, yet the public has limited information on how these funds are managed and spent. Re-turn must disclose how these funds are being allocated and reinvested to benefit environmental initiatives.  2. Executive Salaries: Re-turn has refused to disclose the salaries of its CEO and executive team, despite handling millions of euros in public funds. 3. Accountability: As a not-for-profit organisation operating a nationwide scheme, Re-turn must be fully transparent about its financial operations to maintain public trust. Our Demands: 1. Full Disclosure: Publicly release the salaries of Re-turn executives and provide an annual financial report detailing the allocation of unclaimed deposits. 2. Public Oversight: Establish an independent review committee to ensure that funds are being used responsibly for environmental and community benefits. 3. Legislative Review:  We urge the Irish government to introduce regulations that enforce financial transparency for organisations managing public deposit schemes, including strict guidelines on the allocation of unclaimed deposits.  The Deposit Return Scheme was created to encourage recycling, not to generate undisclosed profits. The Irish public deserves clarity on how their money is being used. By signing this petition, we demand greater accountability and transparency from Re-turn. Let’s ensure that this initiative truly serves the public and environmental good.
