• Preserve & Protect Bessboro
It’s very important to ensure that such crimes on humanity & sites deemed to be crime scenes is properly investigated and while such is dragged out by the Irish government, the least we can do is protect & preserve the whole of the land respectfully until it’s investigated in the manner it legally should be.

  • Stop O'Devaney Homes being sold to Vultures!
In September 2021 the sale of homes at O'Devaney Gardens to vulture funds and large corporate landlords was banned, due to public outcry. Since then Bartra Capital, the main developers of the site, lobbied An Bord Pleanala, including threatening legal action, to rescind the ban. This week An Bord Pleanala caved. This means that hundreds of homes that could have been used for public housing, cost rental and affordable purchase will now, most likely, be sold in one big chuck to a vulture fund or large corporate landlord, who will charge extortionate rent and give little back to our community, unless we stop them. Dublin City Council Management have a responsibility and the power to step in and uphold a ban on the sale to vulture funds and large corporate landlords. Sign and share this petition to ensure that Dublin City Council Management step in and stop O’Devaney homes being sold to vulture funds and large corporate landlords.

  • A Family & Community Resource Centre for Erris
Erris is one of the most beautiful but isolated regions in the country, with many members of the community having to travel significant distances to access services that other areas may take for granted. A local steering committee has been formed to secure a Family & Community Resource Centre for the area. This Centre would act as a hub from which a range of family, community, mental health and well-being supports and services could be delivered, as well as supporting community development activity. By signing this petition you are supporting the FRC for Erris Campaign and our vision for Erris as an inclusive, sustainable, and independent community that is self-sufficient and provides a supportive environment to all those living in the area.

  • Sinn Féin: Pledge to make Northern Ireland's waiting lists a top priority
Northern Ireland's waiting lists are the worst in the UK - with almost one in four of the population waiting for admission or a first outpatient appointment. And no matter who we are or where we come from, getting medical attention when we need it most is vital to us all. The waiting list crisis has been years in the making, and it won’t be solved overnight. But a Department of Health plan has been published, and solutions from organisations like the Nuffield Trust and the Royal College of Surgeons are being put forward. Now we need political will to make it happen.

  • Equity for Trainee Psychologists!
Psychology graduates who wish to become professional practicing psychologists are met with a number of barriers. Firstly, there are not enough programs for these students. Secondly, for those who are lucky enough to find a program, it is close to impossible to fund it. Currently, trainee educational and counselling psychologists must self-fund their doctoral program and pay up to €14,000 per year in college tuition fees. Thirdly, when this has been brought to the Government of Ireland it has not been heard and these issues have not been addressed.

  • Establish an Irish State Construction Company Now
    1. A State construction company would divert scarce skilled construction labour to building projects where it is urgently required. In the midst of a national housing crisis, just over a quarter (26.6%) of Irish construction workers are actually building residential homes. Many are building hotels and offices. 2. We cannot rely on the private sector to provide affordable housing and social housing because this does not align with the business interests of ‘for-profit’ private housing developers. 3. A State construction company would attract more young people toward pursuing a career in construction by offering quality permanent employment and better pay and working conditions. There is currently a shortage of skilled construction workers, we urgently need to attract more young people to pursue a career in construction in order to meet Housing for All building targets. 4. Statistics show it is considerably cheaper for local authorities to directly build social and affordable houses than to buy completed units from private for-profit developers. https://www.irishexaminer.com/opinion/commentanalysis/arid-40744002.html?msclkid=433241c3b3b911ec927ed3f61cdce8d4

  • Fix the problem with HRT supply
The experience of people going through menopause needs to be taken seriously. HRT is a lifeline for many of us and we should not have to worry if the pharmacy has it in stock or not.

  • Save Richmond Road Studios
The disintegration of of Dublin’s cultural scene is a palpable presence in many peoples lives both in and outside of the creative industries. It’s the rental crisis, it’s the cost of living, it’s the disappearance of voices, it’s the endless hustling juggle of trying to keep the disintegration at bay, it’s knowing that there are bigger and constantly unfolding emergencies in our collective daily experience. Dublin has been plundered of its creative spaces for years. Richmond Road Studios is one of the last remaining unfunded and non-profit studios, originating from a time when Dublin was literally bursting to the seams with affordable studios. We are now in receivership and have been given notice. Are we really ok with what our city is becoming? We might have no central heating, and our building can rattle and leak, but it is ours. And we want to stay, and have nowhere else to go. Help us, because what our city is becoming is not ok. We have been extremely lucky to have received a substantial amount of free legal advice since we went into receivership on the 8th of February. However, our legal situation is complex due to a number of factors. We would like to raise money to cover our legal costs in order to properly employ and remunerate those who have been so generous with their time, in order to fight for our studio. Dublin City Council has agreed unanimously to assist us in exploring how they can support the provision of a space for Richmond Road Studio members. But donating to this GoFundMe campaign will allow us to continue to fight for the livelihoods of 20 artists through buying us time to secure a permanent resolution for the studios with the support of Dublin City Council. As mentioned above, this is a far wider issue than just our studio. This is each and every one of us, living in this city, who deserves to experience a city that is rich in culture, in all forms. So help us save our studio, and in so doing, help us change the narrative of a city that is in the midst of a cultural crisis that is gutting our spaces from under us. https://gofund.me/c0ffe468 Update: We have succeeded in securing four months notice rather than the six months that we had hoped for. However we are not done yet! We want Dublin City Council to honour their commitment to look into purchasing our building for us, and failing that to support us in finding an alternative space.

  • Stop the Hike in Electricity & Gas Prices!
Electric Ireland says it will increase its residential electricity prices by 23.4% and gas prices by 24.8% from 1 May. These price hikes will create real hardship for communities up and down the country, already struggling with the cost of living. Electric Ireland (ESB) has extra responsibility as a state owned company (and thus owned by the people of Ireland) to take into account our well-being in decisions on prices and to put this before profit. We ask Paddy Hayes CEO of Electric Ireland (ESB) to put communities first and help alleviate, not worsen the cost of living crisis.
