We urge Louth County Council to prioritize the development and construction of more children’s playgrounds within walkable distances of residential areas in Dundalk. Please allocate resources and planning efforts to create safe and accessible recreational spaces for our children.

CETA is a dodgy trade deal between the EU & Canada, that has the creation of investor courts (ISDS) buried deep in the agreement. These would allow corporations to sue the Irish government for compensation if they think their profits are under threat as a result of changes to laws or regulations.  Helen McEntee is pushing ahead to change our laws so that she can ratify CETA. We are asking all TDs to vote against the amendment to the Arbitration Act that would allow the government to sign up to the investor court element of CETA. We call on you to get rid of ISDS from existing treaties and to stop signing new treaties with any form of ISDS.

These plans include the loss of a recreational green space and the removal of at least 50% of the trees that protect Patrician Villas from the busy N11. We, the residents of Patrician Villas and Grove, were not invited to give our opinions on what may happen in our own neighbourhood and while we do not want to impede public transport infrastructure improvements, we would appreciate the opportunity to enter into dialogue with the NTA. This would allow residents present less destructive, safer and mutually agreeable alternatives.
