I am a wheelchair user that lives in a village called Ballina. At times when it gets busy, loads of people come out from all parts of the country into a village. When this happens, public footpaths get bombarded with cars, making it unsafe and unusable for my health.  I am looking for the county council to install proper bollards that cannot be vandalised easily by people. All attempts at this so far have been ignored. Any support I get would go a long way. I have been on to the newspaper and I've tried to contact a local councilwoman for the area and other TDs. Again, all emails have been ignored. Even when I went in to protest, that also was ignored. 

The Public want the Iveagh Gardens, which belong to the State, to be allowed to remain intact and the  protected boundary wall to be left in place. The protected boundary wall is in the way of the new Science Centre plan and that is why they want to demolish it. In other European capital cities precious  heritage parks like the Iveagh Gardens would be protected by the state. Instead our Government has casually handed over a part of a heritage park to facilitate the interest of a small cohort. This should be unthinkable We call on the Government to recognise the value of the Iveagh Gardens in its current state and halt the proposed demolition of the boundary wall to facilitate the building of a Science Centre. We call on our Governments Ministers to  listen to the widespread public objections to the plan. The Government should be uphold the rights and protections of our parks and not facilitate the diminishment of priceless heritage.  

We are calling on UCD to terminate their contract with Aramark.

We are calling for Minister Leo Varadkar to either: 1) Ensure non custodial parents are obliged to pay maintenance for their children. or 2) Remove the obligation to seek maintenance as a condition for receiving the payment. Can you sign the petition today?

Update: Plans to introduce new bylaws have been stalled as a direct result of people powered campaigning! The battle is not over - just paused for now. Cork County Council are introducing new by-laws that will fundamentally change the market. New by-laws will add another layer of bureaucracy for already registered traders.
