In the past the proposal of a 3-5 storey hotel on the site of the current Atlantic Lounge and Bar site received 127 objections from the public and only 18 notifications of support. Portrush has a rich history of music and bands, the Atlantic Bar and Lounge is a popular venue for locals and tourists. Culture and the arts should be promoted and encouraged. The council should consider the long term future of the Portrush community, instead of accepting all tourism development.

We want the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, as well as elected TDs, to: • Ban the use of non-homing birds for ceremonial release • Require licensing and welfare standards for dove release businesses • Impose fines or penalties for companies that neglect bird welfare These releases are often done with domestic white pigeons, not true doves, and the public is misled into believing the birds will return home. Most do not survive after release.

We believe that a primary cause of tool theft from vans is car boot sales and markets. Many tradespeople may lose their source of income as a result of having their van broken into and having their tools taken. We want the government to take action to combat tool theft because replacing tools is not an inexpensive task.

The Dáil has passed laws to increase the remuneration of three 'super junior' ministers who will now be entitled to an allowance of €16,000 for sitting at Cabinet, on top of their €124,000 salary for serving as Minister of State. Fianna Fáil's Jack Chambers, who is chief whip, Fine Gael's Hildegarde Naughton, Minister of State for Roads, and Green Party Senator Pippa Hackett, a junior minister in the Department of Agriculture, will be eligible for the allowance. We are calling on these three ministers not to accept this payment.

In the face of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic Ireland's health system became single-tiered overnight. We call on the Minister for Health, Simon Harris, to keep the newly attainted 2,000 hospital beds, 9 labs and countless healthcare professionals in public ownership, for the common good. Minister Harris stated that “there can be no room for public versus private” when responding to the COVID-19 crisis. The reality is we have had an existing healthcare crisis before COVID-19, one that defined the 2020 election, with health being the largest concern of exit poll respondents. (1) If a single-tiered, Sláintecare system, is our agreed destination why go backwards?
