Ban now the use of Glyphosate based and other toxic Weedkillers used by Roscommon County CouncilWe are calling on our local authority, Roscommon County Council to prohibit the use of glyphosate based weedkillers and other toxic herbicides not to be used in all public places including public footpaths, road verges, council estates and amenity areas. We are also calling on the county council to use alternative organic based methods for all weed control. We are aware of the seriousness of this invasive species 'Japanese Knotweed', but studies have concluded that the longterm use of glyphosate weedkillers does not actually kill Japanese knotweed. By using organic means to kill this highly invasive species it is proven to be irradicated in the same exact time frame. With the projected construction of Irelands first Soil Recovery centre in the Midlands, it stipulates that it will not accept any plant or soil material that's contaminated with any chemicals. It makes no sense to use contractor's who have no regard for anything but chemical control this also includes chemicals such as Garlon Ultra and Speed lite Pro which do not have a base glyphosate ingredient. These weedkillers have two other active ingredients (1.) Amino Pyralide (2.) Triclopyr. These active ingredients are incredibly toxic and will leach into the soil and our water. They like RoundUp also do not ever break down and our filtration systems are unable to remove these deadly cocktails.368 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Patricia Keane

Panti Bliss to present Shamrock to TrumpI would like to see one of the most iconic modern day ambassadors of Ireland make an important statement that will reflect the opinions and views of the citizens of Ireland, as opposed to a thoughtless gesture which has lost its true meaning and become a brown nosing exercise by our current political representatives.878 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Make the world a nicer place

Don't turn Newtownabbey into the dirty corner of Northern IrelandIn light of the fact that no combined study has been carried out on the health impacts to residents, of massive incinerator complex and an enormous pig factory/farm of 17,500 animals - in an area already known for poor air quality, we are asking Antrim and Newtownabbey Council to request a Judicial Review on our behalf. -215 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Harriett Moore-Boyd

Bus Shelters for Killeagh VillageCommuters in Killeagh Village are subject to adverse Irish weather conditions while waiting for their bus to arrive. The main cohorts of commuters are Students, our elders, and people with a disability. We believe it would benefit the whole community of Killeagh, Inch, and the surrounding areas to have two Bus Shelters approved for installation.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mary TREACY

Gen Free : Free to be Kids Campaign - It's Time to Protect Children Online. The ‘Gen Free: Free to be Kids’ campaign requests that the Irish government introduce measures to protect children online – and we need you to join us in taking action. The campaign is not about asking parents to make changes (though we do recommend delaying the age at which children get access to smart devices). The campaign instead is about demanding that technology companies make their online platforms safe for children, and that if their apps/software etc do not meet a minimum safety requirement, that those companies will not be given access to children. As articulated in the “Gen Free: Free to be Kids” campaign launched in Greystones, Wicklow on 17th Sept 2024, we need the laws to protect children from harm in the physical world to be extended and applied to the digital world. This is the only way to effectively safeguard children and young adults under the age of 18 online. Internet service providers must be held accountable and responsible for creating an online environment that is safe by default using robust age verification measures. The 3 asks below are the minimum actions needed to tackle this crisis and we are calling on you to commit to delivering these as a matter of priority & urgency in the next programme for government. 1. Regulation – specific and effective legislation to protect children online. 2. Education - digital media literacy in school, smartphone free primary & secondary schools (until effective legislation is in place), programmes for parents. 3. Supports – funding & resources for public health awareness campaign, wellbeing training & support services for schools. More details outlining why the 3 asks above need to be delivered can be found at genfree.ie. HOW TO TAKE ACTION There are TWO main ways to take action – please do both! 1. Please sign and share this petition. 2. Email ministers and your local TDs directly. To make this as easy as possible, at www.genfree.ie there is a link to a template email on the 1st page which you can copy, paste and send to the ministers (email addresses provided) and to your local TDs. This will only take a few minutes to do, and is the most effective way to make your voice heard.2,473 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Philip Moyles

Stop reinforcing the stereotype of "the drunken Irish".Every time some visiting head of state arrives, the first thing our politicians seem to do is to go to the nearest pub to have this visitor photographed drinking a pint of Guinness. I would like them to stop them reinforcing this stereotypical image that Ireland is best known for being a nation of drinkers.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mark O'Hagan

Free IT courses for children in IrelandThe influence of technology and its ever-growing importance in shaping our environment means that programming is a valuable skill for any child. Programming not only prepares children and young people for future careers in computer science but also improves their problem-solving skills and logical thinking. Therefore, it should be made free for children.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Markus Doronin
