  • Ballyfermot needs Full Size Astro Facilities
The Ballyfermot community with population of over 55k people currently lacks full-size public Astro pitches, leaving us at a disadvantage compared to other communities that can utilise these facilities to play football throughout the winter months. It is disheartening for clubs and their members in Ballyfermot to see this disparity. The pitches at the Ballyfermot leisure centre are limited to five-a-side, which primarily serve younger children during their training sessions. Unfortunately, this has led to injuries among older youth teams, as the small size of the pitches hampers proper training and gives an advantage to teams with better facilities. Football has the power to unite our community, providing both children and adults with the chance to represent Ballyfermot with pride. However, the lack of available pitches from October through February or March limits our ability to compete during the winter season. We must do better in offering our youth the opportunity to play football and engage in positive activities, helping to prevent boredom and the potential for mischief that arises from a lack of facilities. I urge everyone to sign this petition so that Ballyfermot is not treated as a second-class community, unlike others that enjoy these essential facilities.

  • Don't sell off large parts of rural Ireland to corporate investment funds
Do not sell large tracts of land to international corporates and vulture funds who are only interested in making fast profits from destroying nature and our beautiful countryside. Ireland needs more native woodlands and sustainable forestry, not more mass plantations.

  • Stop handing over public money to the greyhound racing industry
We know that the vast majority of people want to see an end to greyhound racing, but there is a problem - the industry has consistently been awarded more state support. We must stop handing over our public money to the cruel greyhound racing industry.

  • stop the needless culling of fish !
as a keen angler of over 55 years i was disgusted to see photos published on social media (tiktok) of a large number of pike needlessly slaughters by so called ANGLERS on the river shannon at athlone in recent days . the persons responsible for this slaughter even boast of killing a 7.1 kg pike ,photo's show fish from around 0.5kg to 7.1kg left lying dead on the banks of the river . unbelievably this photo has over 350 'hearts' /approvals from other like minded morons . the needless killing of so many fish is sadly not a 'one off ' it is repeated all over irelands waterways every day of the week . i would like to ask anglers , angling clubs , and inland fisheries ireland to take a stance on this sort of slaughter of perfectly healthy fish, if we as anglers DO NOT protect our fish stocks then how can our sport survive ? . please sign this petition and bring an end to this needless slaughter .
