Handing over the rights to a large corporation would leave communities with no input into how their land and environment was being treated.
Seaweed forests are crucial for protecting communities and homes against coastal erosion, providing the bedrock of the food chains, being a nursery for fish populations, while also being a rich part of the heritage and folklore along the west coast.

We don't want our coastlines to be scraped clean of seaweed just so a massive  corporation can make a profit.

Why is this important?

There should be a public consultation on this plan opening soon but lets gather signatures to demonstrate the fact that up and down the west coast, thousands of people don't want our seaweed rights given away to corporations.
