  • Safe Staffing levels for Healthcare Workers in Private Nursing Homes Ireland
Healthcare workers are being paid a poor salary by the private sectors, in particular our Healthcare Assistants are suffering the most. In addition to this in private nursing homes the staffing levels are extremely low. This results in a huge staff turnover causing stress and anxiety for the staff. These healthcare workers are real people with families. Their work is invaluable to the private sector and the people they provide care to, their families and our communities, without healthcare workers there would be no healthcare system. Even after almost two years of a pandemic and alot of hard work, caring for our countrys most vulnerable, the sacrifices made by healthcare staff and still our healthcare assistants did not receive a pay rise. The salary for healthcare assistants in the private sector is a very poor 10.50 per hour, there is no pension and no sick pay, this has to change. In addition to all of this there is also staff shortages due to the high staff turnover and staff are burnt out. The healthcare assistants still have not received a pay rise therefore their work through a pandemic has not even been recognised. Alot of staff have left the private sector because of this. New inexperienced staff are then recruited and hired for the already burnt out existing staff to retrain all over again only for the same thing to happen. Its shocking and makes no sense!! The price of living in this country has way surpassed the working wage for far too long and while our healthcare staff are treated like modern day slaves the government hide behind walls and make excuses. Our government are fully aware of what is happening in the private sector and especially in private nursing homes. It's so sad to watch amazing, experienced, caring, exceptional staff who have become so close to our aging population be forced to leave the private sector for a better wage and working conditions elsewhere. I am a healthcare worker and this is a challenge everyday. We desperately need Reform.

  • Ban TikTok Live in Ireland for Public Safety and Accountability
Subject: Complaint Requesting a Ban on TikTok Live in Ireland I believe that TikTok Live should be banned in Ireland because it is not safe for our society or our younger generation. TikTok Live encourages a culture of easy money, where people— including young boys and girls— believe they can simply go live and receive gifts instead of learning the value of real work, skills, and effort. This is slowly destroying the work ethic in our society. There are serious concerns that remain unanswered and unregulated: • Who is sending these gifts, and why are they sending them? • Where is this money coming from? • What do gift senders expect in return after sending money? • Why are people being pushed into online begging instead of employment? Many users appear to be begging on live streams, which is unhealthy and degrading, especially for young people who are now losing the habit of working. TikTok Live is creating the false belief that money can be earned easily without responsibility, transparency, or accountability. I strongly believe that TikTok Live poses risks related to exploitation, financial manipulation, and long-term social harm, particularly to children and vulnerable individuals. For the safety of our children, the protection of our future generation, and the preservation of healthy social values, I respectfully request that the Irish authorities review, regulate, and prohibit TikTok Live streaming in Ireland. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter.

  • Dublin's Health Emergency We need public toilet & hand washing facilities.
This petition calls on Dublin City Council in the wake of Covid 19 and to address the urgent issue of the city’s poor hygiene infrastructure and lack of public toilets. DCC currently has no action plan or budget allocated to place temporary toilets in and around the city, to be in place ahead of the June 8th (Phase 2) of unlocking the economy. Dublin City needs to be made to more attractive to retain repeat custom, this effects all business especially the retail & hospitality sectors. If you need toilet and cannot find please use #dubcaughtshort The DCC needs to act now Please take the Time to sign this petition and also I would be grateful if you could go to my GO FUND ME PAGE. I hope to raise some funds to place some temporary toilets in the city with in the coming days, the aim will be to force DCC to immediate act roll out facilities before June 8th.
