  • Make Marino more child friendly and safe for our children.
Make Marino Child friendly by installing safe zebra crossings and safe barriers at our greens to allow safe play and safe walking/cycling routes to our schools for our children. The beautiful garden city of Marino has not had its road markings updated in a long time. We acknowledge the imposed 30km speed limit which is a good measure but believe we need more safety measures. When people feel safe, they walk and cycle more which means less traffic congestion at our schools. New suburbs have many zebra crossings and we would like the same for Marino - safe walking/cycling routes to our schools and safe play areas on the greens of Marino. We would like to slow traffic down and allow our children to cross safely and independently. We the undersigned would like safe crossings/safe barrier at our green spaces and routes to schools, specifically: Croydon Gardens (locally known as Top circle) zebra crossings at all the exit and safe barriers so children cannot run straight out onto the road. Marino Park (locally known as Bottom circle) zebra crossings at all the exit and safe barriers so children cannot run straight out onto the road. Croydon Park Ave and Casino road - zebra crossing. Declan Terrace/Declan Road crossroads - zebra crossing. *please let me know if there are any other local routes you would like to add to this list Please also email your local councillor to make sure this happens. • Place Pylons Underground
All new high voltage lines, including the North South Inter-connector should be placed underground. Placing lines underground have benefits for the visual aspect of our scenic country and also prevents lines falling in times of storms. Most mainland European countries now place all high tension wires underground. Why are the Irish behind on this.
