  • Remove school profiling from the leaving certificate calculated grading system
We demand that the department of education remove the classist school profiling from the leaving certificate calculated grading system, which would further entrench privilege into our education system. With the hardship that students have faced in the past few months, students deserve more opportunities, not obstacles.

  • Keep Finglas Connected - For a Better Bus Service
Our Demands to the NTA on Finglas Bus Services: 1. Create a North West–South Finglas Link Introduce a direct route connecting the north-west of Finglas to the south of Finglas. People need this link to access local shops, post offices, schools and other essential services. 2. Serve Beneavin Road Alter the new routes so that Beneavin Road is directly served. This is vital for residents, schools, and nursing homes in the area and has already been called for by local residents groups. 3. Greater Frequency on Route 23 (Replacing the 83) The 83 has consistently high demand, with buses often overcrowded at peak times. At present we have a 10/12 minute service at peak time on the 83. On the 23, a 20 minute peak services is proposed, with bigger disimprovements outside of peak times. 4. Restore a Direct Finglas–DCU/Mobhi Road Link Reinstate a direct service from Finglas to DCU, Scoil Mobhi, Scoil Caitríona, and Na Fianna GAA on Mobhi Road. Under the current plan, people will face two-bus journeys where they previously had a direct link.

  • Scrap the CAO system
The reality of this year’s exams has meant that even the most hard-working students have been, in an unfair 'lottery' system, denied their first choice of course, and forced to settle further down their CAO list. How can we possibly believe that the Leaving Cert and the CAO points race system is the best way to go from here on out when this is happening? The system makes a mockery of the fact that our 6th year students are led to believe that Leaving Cert exams are the most important of their lives, & that hard work and good results will take them to where they want to go in 3rd level education.

  • Ban Letting Agent Fees and Cap Deposits for Renters
We demand: • A ban on letting agents charging fees to tenants such as non-refundable “booking” or “administration” fees; • A ban on any type of “viewing fee” for viewing a property; • Apart from rent, the only upfront charge that should be permitted is the deposit, which should be legally capped at a maximum of one month’s rent.

  • Keep Ireland's Health System in Public Ownership after COVID-19
In the face of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic Ireland's health system became single-tiered overnight. We call on the Minister for Health, Simon Harris, to keep the newly attainted 2,000 hospital beds, 9 labs and countless healthcare professionals in public ownership, for the common good. Minister Harris stated that “there can be no room for public versus private” when responding to the COVID-19 crisis. The reality is we have had an existing healthcare crisis before COVID-19, one that defined the 2020 election, with health being the largest concern of exit poll respondents. (1) If a single-tiered, Sláintecare system, is our agreed destination why go backwards?

  • Please don’t postpone the Leaving Cert for so long
Don’t postpone the Leaving Cert longer than 2-3 weeks. Minister McHugh, having a son or daughter studying for the LC in confinement is hard, but it somehow gives structure to their day. They have remained focused, unable to have a social life, and it will be hard to maintain that momentum for such a long time as has been proposed. As the concerned parent of an LC student, and after discussing it with other parents in the same situation, I am asking you to consider postponing them for 2-3 weeks instead or, if arrived the time that was deemed impossible, to consider using the predicted results.

  • Update Ireland's Aviation Policy
Ireland's current National Aviation Policy was published in 2015, having been formulated over the previous three years. It is now 10 years old, and out of date. Given ever-increasing air traffic, and consequent emissions, while also bearing in mind the importance of the sector to Ireland's international connectivity, it is time to reevaluate our aviation policy.
