To: All the leaders of Left wing parties in Ireland
Say NO to coalitions with Fianna Fail and Fine Gael.
This is a petition to ensure the Left wing parties of Ireland remain true to their core values and concentrate on growing the Left movement in Irish politics. We are asking the leaders of these parties to pledge not to go into government with either Fianna Fail or Fine Gael, and instead seek coalitions with those of similar ideology, thereby ending the duopoly that has dominated our political landscape since the foundation of the state.
Why is this important?
We have never had a strong political Left in Ireland, and this is why our country is facing multiple crises. The capitalist ideology must be challenged in order for people to be given a serious alternative. In addition, voters should not be fooled by a political party which espouses values that they quickly toss aside in exchange for a place in government. Parties must prove they are really committed to change.
