Remove newly constructed intrusive and aesthetically inappropriate bridge entrance and path-ways

Reinstate green-way and hedgerows so as to retain the 18th Century character of the Avenue

Conform to their own stated objective ' to preserve the Avenue as an item for preservation of international interest'.

Why is this important?

Carton Avenue is of National and International interest because of its connection to the Geraldines

Its 18th Century aesthetic has remained intact since it was designed

It was aesthetically designed to link Carton estate and parklands to the Town of Maynooth and 13th century Geraldine Castle

Reasons for signing

  • Many of us resident in this town have many memories of walks along this peaceful avenue. One of too few a green space left in our town. The way it has been tampered with is changing its essence and more should fight to preserve a treasure that has brought so much joy to so many!
  • This is a safe peaceful environment in which to walk - don't destroy our history.
  • Protect an integral part of the towns unique historic streetscape
