Change media terminology regarding rape

We want a change in the language used to describe rape in Irish Media. We want an end to the downplaying of sexual assaults through the use of inappropriate language which diminishes the act, so that the public is aware of the gravity of rape.

Sex with a child/minor is RAPE.
Child Prostitution is RAPE.
Non-consensual sex is RAPE.
Child pornography is RAPE.

Using euphemisms in the case of rape diminishes the effects on the victim.

Why is this important?

Women, children and men who are subjected to rape and sexual assault deserve the correct language to be used to highlight how disgusting and wrong rape and sexual assault is.

How it will be delivered
