PETITION: Urgent Road Safety Improvements at Birches Lane / Blackrock Road Junction, Blackrock, Co. Louth We, the undersigned residents and road users, are writing to raise urgent safety concerns regarding the junction of Birches Lane and Blackrock Road, Blackrock, Co. Louth. This junction presents a significant and ongoing risk to motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists due to a combination of factors, including: High traffic volumes on Blackrock Road Speed of vehicles approaching the junction Difficulty exiting Birches Lane safely, particularly when turning right Limited safe crossing opportunities for pedestrians Increasing concern regarding the likelihood of serious collisions With continued population growth and rising traffic levels in the area, residents believe that the current layout is no longer adequate and poses a real danger to public safety. Given the history of serious incidents in the wider locality, we strongly feel that preventative action must be taken before another accident occurs, rather than reacting after the fact. We respectfully call on Louth County Council to take the following actions as a matter of priority: Conduct a formal Road Safety Audit of the junction Carry out traffic count and speed surveys Review visibility, signage, and road markings Assess and implement appropriate traffic calming measures Consider longer-term solutions such as junction redesign, traffic signals, or other safety improvements We request written confirmation that these concerns have been formally logged and referred to the appropriate Roads Engineer, along with clear communication on the next steps and expected timelines.

Abolish the overnight guests policy.

Mayo's beaches are used all year round, but the public toilets at the beaches are closed for half the year, from October until May. We're asking Mayo County Council to keep the beach toilets open all year round.

To Fingal County Council Local Elected Representatives For well over 10 years the community of Naul have highlighted the dangerous location of Naul National School and the inadequate and unsafe pedestrian access. Ultimately the school needs to be moved to a new and safer location within the village. In the interim we are calling on Fingal County Council to reduce the speed limit at the school to a 30km zone. We are also calling on Fingal County Council to install new footpath from the Cabinhill Junction to the school. We are also asking that the existing footpath from the school to the village be repaired and widened to 1.8m in width to fall in line with safety requirements. There are areas along this current pathway where the path disappears and we are asking that this area be given attention and the footpath continued. We are also calling on Fingal County Council to examine all pedestrian access points around the village of Naul and make improvements to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

On behalf of the North Tipperary Community Rail Partnership we call on Irish Rail, the National Transport Authority and the Irish Government to improve the current journey times on the Limerick – Nenagh – Ballybrophy railway line. For too long this section of the national rail network has been left in a state of decline. There has been more than €23 million Euros of taxpayers' money spent upgrading the line in the last year and despite this there has been no improvements to the desperately slow journey times. There has been significant work carried out on the line to replace the old jointed track with Continuous Welded Rail (CWR). ~80% of the track has now been upgraded to CWR however the speed limits on all sections remain exactly the same as they were prior to these works being carried out. • We request that the Infrastructure Manager provides an up-to-date engineer's report to reflect the investment in track and infrastructure on the line, recognising that the original speed restrictions were imposed because of the poor condition of the track. With over 80% of the line now renewed with modern track, speed limits can be increased to take advantage of this. The fact that the line has a considerable amount of crossings shouldn’t preclude this; other routes such as the Western Rail Corridor north of Ennis have line-speeds as high as 80mph (i.e. almost 130 kmph). The District Engineer should be actively looking to deliver improved speed limits, thus decreasing journey times, without compromising safety. There can be no justification for spending €23 million of taxpayers' money and not see any return for that investment regarding improved speed limits/journey times. • Secondly, we request that an additional middle of the day service be introduced on the line in both directions in order to facilitate practical workforce demand. There is huge interest and a preference from communities along the line to use the train service for many obvious and practical reasons instead of taking a car etc. However the current twice daily timetable makes it impossible for any casual or professional usage of the line. For example if someone from Castleconnell wanted to travel to Limerick for a morning meeting/appointment they would have to wait around until 16:55 to get the return train home. It is just impractical for students and casual travellers and is a major reason why taking the train is not a realistic option for communities along the line. • Finally, we recommend the appointment of a dedicated regional rail manager with responsibility for the delivery of upgrades and marketing of the line.

Introduce a fair and humane regularisation scheme for asylum seekers who have lived in Ireland for three years or more and who have worked and contributed positively to Irish society, granting them legal residency and the right to continue living and working in Ireland.
