Stop Fox Hunting and Fox Cub HuntingBring in a Law banning Fox Hunting for Sport. I knew that the horrible sport of fox hunting goes on in Ireland but was shocked to read an article by John Fitzgerald in Dublins Northside People (28-08-24) This article gives graphic details of fox cub hunting: The hunters and dogs surround a covert known to contain fox cubs, the dogs and hunters make a lot of noise to flush the poor young foxes out and then they are ripped apart to “blood" the hounds for the fox hunting season. John Fitzgerald writes regularly in Northside People about cruelty to our native animals and he never stops highlighting these barbaric activities. We in Dublin have grown to love our urban foxes and I, for one, get excited every time one passes through my garden. By starting this petition I want to put more pressure on our Government to ban this barbaric hunting of our precious native animals.157 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Nuala Angel

MAKE MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID MANDATORY IN WORKPLACES!In every workplace in Ireland you are required to hold a valid occupational first aid certificate before beginning or obtain one while in employment. Why can't it be the same for mental health first aid? Helps: - Understand when someone needs help and where to send them. - Eliminates the stigma associated with mental health. - Everyone understands mental health better together. In 2019, roughly 421 people that were reported lost there lives to suicide in Ireland. There has been an epidemic in Ireland long before covid 19 and it has gone unnoticed. I am therefore calling on our government as well as companies to make it mandatory that you have to have a proper suicide prevention training or mental health first aid before starting any job. ***An assessment prior to the course will be carried out by trainers to understand the workers own mental wellbeing and to make sure to cater to each group so that people doing the course are not triggered.*** There is a mental health first aid course delivered through Mental Health Ireland. https://www.mhfaireland.ie/workplace?fbclid=IwAR1PCZi11aNcfwGyBygJrwvhHph5SOUo8qmkdF5QWWV9pzcp4bJcGVZpMoQ This does NOT take away from the fact we need more specialists such as counsellors in schools and psychologists as these are the people the first responders will be sending the people that are struggling too. I ask the government of Ireland to prevent any further suicides by passing this requirement into law. Enough is enough. I.E. this is also not a petition designed so that the government can wash there hands of 24hour services at A and Es and specialists which are badly needed in Ireland.57 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sinead Jackson

Private Small Bus Operators Of IrelandAll licensed bus and coach operators need to be included and not excluded from small business grants .Our industry is one of the ones that have been hugely affected by covid19.Our industry is on its knees and its not looking to healthy for us .School transport is properly going to be the only work available at the moment . They need to recognise us as viable important businesses in Ireland. They need to listen to what is happening in our industry and act on it . They need to stop giving the same false answers that are irrelevant to us . They need to know the difference between a wage subsidy scheme and a grant . We need grants, financial Aid and restart grants to list just a few .We have been excluded from every thing including school transport financial support for covid19 supply's. Our Government are not aware of what our industry is about hence why they keep on excluding us from restart grants. Extension on holiday breaks with banks Is a must without interest been charged . We also need a more trusted industry body that has all coach operators interests at heart but we also need to be represented with professionalism and honesty . These are just a few of the things needed for this industry to survive861 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Silverlining Coach Hire

Introduce Legislation Enabling Citizens to Recall Elected OfficialsAs a mother of two autistic children, I know the pain of failed promises. A story that is sadly all too common - families like ours are let down by the officials we elected to protect and serve us. We were promised a world where our children could thrive, instead, we feel forgotten and ignored as soon as our votes were cast. Ireland’s democracy is built on the principles of accountability, transparency, and representation. However, when elected officials fail to uphold these values, citizens currently have no legal means to hold them directly accountable between elections. This lack of accountability undermines public trust in our democratic system. We, the undersigned, call for the introduction of legislation enabling citizens to recall elected officials who neglect their duties, act unethically, or fail to represent the will of their constituents. Our specific demands are as follows: 1. The introduction of a recall mechanism allowing constituents to petition for the removal of an elected official. 2. Clear and fair thresholds for initiating a recall, ensuring it is used for example in cases of serious misconduct or neglect. 3. A transparent process that upholds democratic principles while empowering citizens to hold their representatives accountable. Ireland must join other democracies around the world in recognising the importance of citizen-driven recall mechanisms. These systems ensure that elected officials remain answerable to the people they serve, not just during elections but throughout their time in office. By signing this petition, you are joining a movement to strengthen Ireland’s democracy and demand greater accountability from our leaders. Together, we can make this change a reality.33 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Catherine Gray

Help Cuba fight COVID-19 and the US blockadeWe the Irish Cuba Solidarity Alliance call on the Irish government along with other EU countries to make an urgent representation to the US to end its blockade immediately, or at the very least to temporarily suspend it to allow vital supplies of food, fuel and medical equipment to the Cuban people. The Cuban people supported many people in a time of need. This is our chance to demonstrate our appreciation for their solidarity and support.115 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Yvonne Callaghan
