Save our Lollypop Lady in Gorey
Just a quick note to try save Gorey’s Lollypop Lady. Phil has been doing the job for the last 2 years and loves it but because she will turn 70 in August Wexford County Council are terminating her contract stating it national policy.
Both parents and the school are disappointed with this decision and they have waits so long to get the position filled.
Phil has a great rapport with the children, Phil is fit and healthy and will miss the job terribly if it is taken away from her.
When Phil spoke to Joe Duffy another Lollypop lady came in air and explained that she is 71 and doing the job under Fingal Rathdowney CC.
All we want is Phil not to loose her job and if that means a health check each year that’s no problem.

Why is this important?
Lolly Pop lady is a necessity in an extremely busy town like Gorey. They found it so hard 2 years ago to fill the position surely if someone is willing and healthy enough to do the job let them do it.
