No Pride in Israeli Apartheid

Dublin Pride sets criteria for allowing sponsorship from, and participation of, companies/corporations/groups in the Pride Parade. We are calling on them to add BDS principles to this criteria.
We call on them to reject the Pinkwashing of Pride in Dublin and adhere to the global Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) Palestian-led movement for freedom, justice and equality by boycotting any group or organisation that actively participates in, or profits from, the settler colonialism, apartheid and occupation regime over the Palestinian people.

Why is this important?
As recently as last month, we bore witness to the horror of a renewed aggression and violence on the Palestinian people, through the forced displacement of Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah and the relentless bombardment of Gaza, killing 256 people, including 66 children.
The International LGBT community has been a key target of the "Brand Israel" strategy since 2005, where pinkwashing has become a major component of the Brand Israel PR campaign, despite maintaining a brutal occupation and Apartheid system.
Pinkwashing is not about furthering the cause of LGBT rights - it is the cynical use of LGBT rights to distract from and normalise the settler colonial and apartheid reality that the State of Israel has established in Palestine. It provides ideological cover and explicit support for Israeli militarism and occupation.
Inspired by the South African anti-apartheid movement, the BDS call urges action to pressure Israel to comply with international law.
