To: Mr Kieran Mulvey Chairman An Post
An Post Paint & Maintain Dublin 8 Post boxes

An Post should inspect, clean, repair, repaint and regularly maintain its infrastructure in Dublin 8, with graffiti and deterioration dealt with promptly rather than being allowed to remain for years.
Why is this important?
Dublin 8 Deserves Better: An Post Must Clean and Maintain Its Street Furniture
We, the residents and community members of Dublin 8, are asking An Post to clean, repair, paint and maintain its post boxes, parcel boxes and other street furniture.
Some An Post infrastructure in Dublin 8 has been badly neglected. In some cases, graffiti has been left for up to six years. Rust, moss, stickers, peeling paint, dirt and graffiti are now common sights.
Local volunteers work hard to keep Dublin 8 clean and cared for. However, An Post’s property should be maintained by An Post, not by local volunteers.
We are asking An Post to:
- Remove graffiti, stickers, moss and dirt.
- Remove rust and repair damaged areas.
- Repaint post boxes and other street furniture.
- Repair or replace badly damaged items.
- Check its street furniture regularly.
- Deal with graffiti and damage quickly.
- Work with local residents and community groups to identify problem areas.
Well-maintained street furniture makes a real difference to the look and feel of our neighbourhood.
We are asking Mr Kieran Mulvey, Chairman of An Post, to take action and commit to a programme of cleaning and maintenance across Dublin 8.
Dublin 8 deserves better. Please help us keep our community clean, attractive and cared for.
