Stop Evictions and Ban Corporate Landlords in Ireland

Campaign Demands
1. Close the Loophole: We call on the government to introduce emergency legislation to STOP evictions for no reason. For Tenancies that began prior to 11 June 2022, a landlord can terminate a tenancy after 6 years for any reason.
2. Ban Corporate Landlords: End the involvement of corporate landlords in the Irish housing market, as they are driving up rents and housing prices. These vulture funds are exacerbating the housing crisis.
3. Withdraw Eviction Notices: We urge the landlord LRC to immediately withdraw Notices of Termination for families in Applewood, as well as those in similar situations. We urge the government to intervene. Families are facing homelessness due to what we believe to be greed and legal loopholes; these notices must be rescinded immediately.
On Thursday the 5th of June at 1pm, there will be a protest outside the LRC office located at 32 Lower Baggot Street Dublin 2.
If you are facing eviction join a Union! You can sign up at CatuIreland.org. If you are a tenant anywhere in Ireland facing eviction on these grounds, join the campaign and connect with tenants in Applewood at [email protected]. There is strength in numbers!

Why is this important?
Enough is enough. Sign this petition because the government is not treating the housing crisis as an emergency. People are not just statistics, and emergency accommodation should not be the new normal.
More than 15,000 people remain homeless, and thousands more face sky-high rents and insecure tenancies. Meanwhile, corporate landlords continue to profit and exacerbate this housing crisis.
The only solution now is for tenants and communities to take direct action. Stand in solidarity, sign the petition, show up, and take a stand.
