Skerries Point Pedestrian Crossing

Obvious desire line for people crossing which aligns with the pedestrian walkway into the shopping centre but is out of line with the traffic lights
The main pedestrian walkway at Skerries Point Shopping Complex is dangerously misaligned with the traffic lights. This creates confusion and risk for anyone crossing between Kelly’s Bay and the shopping complex.

This is not just an inconvenience — it is a serious safety issue. With the high number of children and teenagers using it daily, it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or worse. I’ve contacted the council several times without success, as have many others. I am hoping that by setting up this petition, I can ask Cllr O Leary to bring it directly to the attention of the planning department and request the council to take action. If you agree the traffic lights should be moved to align with the pedestrian walkway please sign the petition and if you could share this on your social channels I would be very grateful.

Why is this important?

We are calling for the traffic lights to be properly aligned with the designated pedestrian walkway to make this crossing safe for everyone. By signing this petition, you are helping to protect our community and prevent a potentially tragic accident.
