Keep Bella’s in Kildare town and stop the monopoly that Macaris feel like they’re entitled to in the town.  We are in a time when the customer is entitled to use our power to buy where we will get fresh and fair value products and that cannot be influenced and bullied by other business owners against competition. Bella’s has been a welcome addition to Kildare town and has given us a refreshing option to the monopoly that the Macari family and their bully tactics to other businesses 

Keep the Liffey Cycle Route on Dublin’s quays — say no to a backstreet detour, yes to a Dutch-style two-way cycle path reclaiming part of the quays and a new riverside park. Option 6 is workable and the best route for the city. Act now to save the route — sign the petition, and email [email protected] and your local city councillors to make it clear you want the route to stay on the quays.

The Cavan-Monaghan Midwifery Led Unit within Cavan General Hospital has been informed it is no longer able to book anyone for maternity care as of 1st June 2020. This limits the choices of care for pregnant people, working opportunities for midwives and learning experience for students. There has been no rationale given for the decision despite the wealth of evidence supporting access to Midwifery Led Units both nationally and internationally. It is also in direct opposition to the National Maternity Strategy (2016) which is yet to be implemented to its full potential. Midwifery -led care has been successful in providing higher satisfaction and better outcomes in the physical and psychological health for women among numerous other benefits. The National Maternity Hospital needs to be a fully owned public hospital built on publicly owned land.

We demand that Limerick County Council works to implement an evidence based Mental Health Awareness Programme in all Limerick City secondary schools.

Replace the glass recycling banks in Macroom town centre and Clondrohid village!

Make sure there is enough emergency accommodation available so that no person who is homeless has to sleep outdoors this Winter.

Have the following included in the impending Programme for Government: 1. Provide low interest loans to schools to install solar. 2. Allow Solar Schools to sell surplus power. 3. Allow school solar installations to be planning exempt.
