A shop is the heartbeat of any community.  Please do not take away the opportunity for our village to have a convenience store.

We demand: 1. That Dublin City Council and other local authorities immediately drop plans to increase rents.  2. That the Irish Government fully fund local authorities to carry out housing maintenance, repairs, and retrofitting - ideally by direct labour employment 3. That local authority housing be treated as a public good, not a business.

The people of Northern Ireland voted by a majority to stay in the EU. We already have rules in many areas that are different to the rest of the UK. Staying in the Customs Union would help save us from the worst effects of Brexit.

Stop the proposed changes to the 68 and 69 bus routes serving the Rathcoole/Newcastle /Saggart areas.

We are asking all members of our community to join with us in calling on Mayo CC to utilise their power to protect and secure more funding for the campus here in Castlebar. We are also calling on the Minister for Education and skills Richard Bruton to ensure that all necasary funds are secured and that a program be set in place to ensure the continued growth of the institute here in Castlebar.

In the context of the coronavirus, Covid-19 pandemic we demand that emergency measures be brought in that until this crisis resolves that all evictions end. That emergency measures also be introduced that vacant homes br requisitioned for people experiencing homelessness and direct provision (where transmission rates will be inevitably higher due to impossibility of maintaining social distancing and facilities to self-isolate) (For example, there are thousands of entire homes and apartments available on short-term letting platforms)

The building and cafe need to be protected as a national cultural institution.
