  • Addressing Water Outages in North Kildare
    I am writing to you to raise concern for the ongoing issue of water outages in the north Kildare area.  Whilst the people can understand the occasional blip in the system, this has frankly began to reach the point of a complete joke.  At present, our water is turned off at a rate of almost weekly, and the repeat outages have been going on for a number of months now.  What is even more alarming, is the lack of regard for the people that is presented by those who are aware of these issues.  It is understandable that some issues cannot be predicted, however, turning the water off due to low reservoir levels is something that should be expressed to people in the area well in advance so that they can plan for the

  • Let's Build Cloughjordan Playground
    Cloughjordan Community Development Association are working towards the development of a safe, inclusive and accessible playground in Cloughjordan for the benefit of children, families, and the wider community. At present, families in our area must travel to neighbouring towns to access suitable play facilities. This places an unnecessary burden on parents and limits opportunities for children to enjoy outdoor play, social interaction, and healthy development within their own community. This project has strong community backing. Local people and organisations have demonstrated their commitment by supporting community fundraising efforts to the tune of over €25,000 date. The project is shovel ready- we now just need to secure the relevant government funding to make this vision a reality.  We respectfully urge Tipperary Co Co and Government Authority bodies to support us with the financial investment that will bring the playground to life in 2026. Together, we can create a lasting, positive space for current and future generations. Your support in signing this petition is appreciated.

    PETITION: Urgent Road Safety Improvements at Birches Lane / Blackrock Road Junction, Blackrock, Co. Louth We, the undersigned residents and road users, are writing to raise urgent safety concerns regarding the junction of Birches Lane and Blackrock Road, Blackrock, Co. Louth. This junction presents a significant and ongoing risk to motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists due to a combination of factors, including: High traffic volumes on Blackrock Road Speed of vehicles approaching the junction Difficulty exiting Birches Lane safely, particularly when turning right Limited safe crossing opportunities for pedestrians Increasing concern regarding the likelihood of serious collisions With continued population growth and rising traffic levels in the area, residents believe that the current layout is no longer adequate and poses a real danger to public safety. Given the history of serious incidents in the wider locality, we strongly feel that preventative action must be taken before another accident occurs, rather than reacting after the fact. We respectfully call on Louth County Council to take the following actions as a matter of priority: Conduct a formal Road Safety Audit of the junction Carry out traffic count and speed surveys Review visibility, signage, and road markings Assess and implement appropriate traffic calming measures Consider longer-term solutions such as junction redesign, traffic signals, or other safety improvements We request written confirmation that these concerns have been formally logged and referred to the appropriate Roads Engineer, along with clear communication on the next steps and expected timelines.

  • Urgent: Bray mum with 2 children with additional needs facing eviction needs housing now
    We are asking Wicklow County Council to provide immediate emergency accommodation for this family, to ensure that any accommodation offered is suitable for children with additional needs and to engage directly with the family to prevent them entering homelessness or being placed in accommodation that is not suitable for children with additional needs. This is an urgent situation. No family, especially one with vulnerable children, should be left without a safe place to live. We urge Wicklow County Council to act now.
