Save The Ardmore Beachfront
The residents of Ardmore are asking for support to Save The Beachfront.
The local community does not support the waterfront development because:
- The beachfront will be destroyed and part of the village history and character ruined forever.
- It is a waste of public funds to spend €1.2 million on something which the local community do not need or want.
- There is a cohort of residents who depend on the beachfront for social interaction, this will remove a critical informal social support.
- The area has been prone to flooding and is unsuitable for such a development.
- Local voices must be heard, engagement has been tokenistic.
Why is this important?
The community wants to save the beachfront, they believe the Council and political representatives are not listening.
