Save our Postman Dave!

David Kelly has been our local postman for years here around the lower main street / Harbour area of Rush, Co. Dublin. 

Unfortunately we just got the sad news that Dave is to be moved on to a different route. It wasn't his choice and he's devastated about it... as are the residents. 

An Post still operates under the old civil service mantra of seniority rules. Dave has been outed off his route by "someone more senior". This is completely illogical. It's not about qualifications it's simply about time served with the company. 

It doesn't seem to matter that Dave knows every resident individually and is an invaluable member of our community. Nor does it seem to matter that he has built a relationship with the public that he serves with such dedication, bringing a smile to all he meets during his rounds. 

Dave was there for all of us over the years, bringing groceries and prescriptions to the elderly during covid even... Now our community is there for him.

Dave is an honorary Rushman now and we won't let him go without a fight!
