No St Patrick's Day Trump Visit

Dear Taoiseach,

The release of sworn testimony in the Epstein files has made one thing clear: any decision by you to visit Donald Trump at the White House this St Patrick’s Day would be morally indefensible.

The public record now contains under-oath testimony alleging Donald Trump’s close association with Jeffrey Epstein and describing sexual violence, including the abuse of minors. These are not rumours, insinuations, or partisan attacks. They are sworn statements by victims, widely reported in reputable international media outlets and impossible to ignore.

A St Patrick’s Day visit would not be neutral diplomacy. It would be a public act of honour and legitimisation. It would signal that the Irish State is willing to overlook credible allegations of extreme abuse in order to preserve tradition and political optics.

Such a decision would represent a gross failure of moral leadership. It would send a chilling message to survivors of sexual violence: that power, status, and convenience still outweigh accountability and basic human decency.

St Patrick’s Day is supposed to reflect Ireland’s values to the world. Standing beside a man credibly implicated in the sexual exploitation of children would betray those values and permanently stain Ireland’s reputation.

We therefore call on you to refuse any invitation to visit the White House this St Patrick’s Day.

Anything less would be a deliberate choice to look away.

Signed,

Why is this important?

No shamrocks for anyone named in the Epstein files and linked to allegations of sexual abuse of minors
