Keep Training Facilities Open

In the event of a return to phase 2 of restrictions gyms and trainers providing small group fitness classes should be allowed remain in operation provided:
1 - access to facilities is controlled by a robust booking system and a time limit of 60 minutes is observed
2 - numbers in attendance are reduced to no more than 50% capacity, or less depending on size of training premises
3 - a minimum of 30 minutes between each session to allow for cleaning
4 - premises must close to users for a deep clean at least twice during the day
5 - temperature checks taken and recorded before entry
6 - hand sanitizer at all points of entry and on the training floor
7 - antiviral spray used on all equipment before and after
8 - contact tracing information made available if required
9 - shower and locker room facilities are not to be used

Why is this important?

It's important for people's physical, emotional and mental health to have some sort of training facilities available to them if they wish to avail of them. If proper guidelines are followed it's not impossible to monitor the flow of facility users while maintaining hygiene standards. This is not a call against restrictions if they are needed on public health grounds but people need an outlet to work through the difficulties of lockdown.
