Justice for Yves Sakila
We want to express how upset and horrified we are at the brutal death of Yves Sakila, a Congolese man who called Ireland home. In what seemed to be a completely unnecessary use of physical force, Yves died after being restrained by security guards outside Arnotts in the middle of Dublin, in broad daylight. This is a tragedy. All of us, no matter who we are or where we come from, should be able to live in safety.
Why is this important?
We want to come together to make it clear that people from every single community across the country are horrified at the violent death of Yves Sakila. We believe that everybody deserves to feel safe in their community, no matter the colour of their skin or where they come from.
