We want to Express our support for the extension of library hours or the return of library full service. Donegal Town Families are a group of Donegal residence and it has numerous frequent library users, that have personally experienced the challenges caused by limited operating hours. We believe that extending the library hours or returning full service to the library will benefit the community in many ways and help address the education and information needs of library users. We strongly advocate for relocating the library to a more suitable building. The current space is too small and severely restricts the services and resources the library can provide. To fully serve our community's needs, it is essential to find a more appropriate site that allows for expansion and improvement of the library's offerings. A library offers more than just access to books and other resources. It is a community gathering place where people from all walks of life can come together to learn, engage, and build relationships. Given the current situation of the pandemic, the library can be a safe haven for individuals who may not have access to the internet or who may have difficulty affording books or other educational materials. Extending the library hours or returning library full service would give the community more time to access the resources they need. This includes students who might need to work on school assignments after regular school hours, working adults who need access to the library after work hours, and families who need access over weekends and holidays   In this day and age, education is critical, and the library can play a crucial role in providing resources and knowledge to individuals living in the community. Providing a full range of library services and more time to use the library is an investment in the community's education and well-being. In conclusion, We hope this petition will encourage the library administration to consider firstly to extending the library hours or returning full service to meet the community's information and educational needs. Secondly to relocate the service to larger location, which would benefit the community by allowing the library and other community organisations to hold events.

In August 2020 it was announced that the Department of Justice is intending to set up a Direct Provision Centre for people who have fallen victim to the commercial sex trade which is to be run by DePaul and Ruhama. Victims of the commercial sex trade in this context means people who engaged in sex work or survivors of sex trafficking. While we welcome an end to human trafficking survivors being housed in Direct Provision, we would like to see everyone removed from Direct Provision and housed within communities. This step being a longer-term objective means we need to express our disapproval that Ruhama be placed in a position of responsibility within any new centre. Please, know that we will not accept Ruhama as a viable organisation for victims of any kind and we demand the Department of Justice and Minister McEntee put an end to Ruhama being considered for the role of running any residential institution or centre and that the department begin the work to replace and remove them from all state funded activities.

Our Request: 1. Partner with certified halal suppliers to introduce a range of halal meat and poultry options in your stores. 2. Ensure that these products are priced competitively to make them accessible to all. 3. Promote these halal offerings to raise awareness and serve the needs of a diverse customer base. We believe that by addressing this issue, retailers can not only support the well-being of the Muslim community but also demonstrate their commitment to serving Ireland’s multicultural society.
