Why is this important?
The Peace Proms is a school music programme with an annual concert. Children from all over the island of Ireland perform together and it is hugely enjoyable for the young participants. This year's repertoire features AI-composed music as part of the programme, as if it is being showcased. The use of artificial intelligence in a cultural and educational programme obscures the nature of this new technology and of the corporations developing it and profiting massively from its largely undesired rollout.
