To: The government has the biggest influence but the drinks industry and malting industry are key components to make this happen

Just One cent more

As a grower of grain to supply the Drinks Industry I want to highlight the fact that the value of grain in a pint of beer in only about 2•5 cent .
I have to try make a profit out of that 2•5 cent value with the cost of producing grain in Ireland gone up drastically in recent years. The average pint of beer sells for near €6 in Ireland.
My ask is that a cent is added to the price of a pint to go directly to the farmer growing the grain.

Why is this important?

The farmer's involved are getting a tiny proportion of the profit margins involved even though they supply the vital component to make the beer.
