Dublin City Council: We Need A Community Space!

We are calling on Dublin City Council to source a community space and facility to properly accommodate Larkhill Legends, St. Carlo Acutis Boxing Club and other sports, youth and community groups in the Whitehall, Santry and Beaumont area.
The Council must bring local derelict sites back into use for the good of the local community.
We are calling on Dublin City Council to source a community space and facility to properly accommodate Larkhill Legends, St. Carlo Acutis Boxing Club and other sports, youth and community groups in the Whitehall, Santry and Beaumont area.
The Council must bring local derelict sites back into use for the good of the local community.
Why is this important?
Larkhill Legends Youth Club and St. Carlo Acutis Boxing Club are two fantastic community groups catering to more than 100 children, many of whom have additional needs. Being members of these clubs has enabled local children to improve their physical health, mental health and social skills.
Both clubs run in the heart of Whitehall. They also organise a summer project which brings the children on overnight trips around Ireland.
Local clubs such as these benefit not only the children and their families, but the local community as a whole.
Unfortunately, the lack of a suitable community space in our area has been a core issue affecting our local youth clubs and community groups. Without a proper community facility, existing clubs and groups face major challenges in maintaining and expanding their services, and it is much more difficult for new clubs to be established in the area.
It can be incredily disheartening for the community to see vacant sites and derelict buildings lying idle for years while sports and community groups, who bring so much positivity and hope to the area, have to continue trying to sustain themselves without suitable facilities.
