Reject the Amendments of the International Health Regulations 2005 to protect Human Rights
We want the Minister of Health to reject the Amendments to the International Health Regulations 2005, which were accepted in May 2022 by the WHO. The letter of Rejection needs to be written to the WHO by November 2023.
Why is this important?
In May 2022 the WHO accepted Amendments to the International Health Regulation 2005, which will change this advisory organisation into a regulatory organisation (Art.1). There are deep concerns with some of the amendments including making advise binding, the deleting of the need to respect dignity, human rights and individual rights of persons in regards to the WHO regulations (Art. 3), Pandemics can be called out if potential rather then actual emergencies (Art. 2), mandatory medical treatments (Art.18), loss of Sovereignty (Art43), Censorship through the WHO (Annex1, page 36), obligations of duty to cooperate (Annex10) and many more concerns. Decisions are made by delegates which are not accountable and many questions need to be asked to establish any conflict of interest the World Health Organisation has through the funding it receives. Every country has 18 month to reject these amendments, which is due by the end of November this year. By being silent we consent to the changes, but very few people seem to know about the drastic changes which were done without assessing and reflecting the management of the last pandemic, or recognising whether some advise led to more harm of physical and mental health then protecting people and their health. We need more data to learn and understand how to best protect people and Society during pandemics.
We the undersigned feeling deeply concerned about these amendments. Our all need for respect and protection of human life and human rights, individual circumstances, society and democracy are not met by theses amendments and we urgently request the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly to write a letter of rejection within the necessary time frame to the World Health Organisation to opt out of the Amendments to the International Health Regulation 2005.
